Indian test team for South Africa series

Indian selectors picked a 14-man squad for the first two tests of 3-match series against South Africa. India will play first test in Chennai on March 26 and second test in Ahmedabad on April 3. Dhoni and Harbhajan need to undergo fitness test on March 21. Murali Karthik was selected as third spinner for his good performance in the one day series at home. Yuvraj Singh was also picked despite his poor run in the test series against Australia. Murali Karthik needs to prove his fitness after his injury in the domestic tournament. Team for the third test match which will be played in Kanpur will be announced at a later date.

1. Wasim Jaffer.
2. Virender Sehwag.
3. Rahul Dravid.

Middle order:

1. Sachin Tendulkar.
2. Sourav Ganguly.

4. Yuvraj Singh.

Wicket-keeper: Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

All-Rounder: Irfan Pathan.

Bowlers:

1. Harbhajan Singh.
2. Murali Karthik.
3. S. Sreesanth.
4. R.P. Singh
Standby: Piyush Chawla and Dinesh Karthik.

Players not selected due to injuries: Ishant Sharma and Zaheer Khan.
